Prodigal Son Is Back?
Yes. It's exactly as the title says. Maybe I'm back. Maybe I'm not. There's only one way to find out.
There’s a lot to say. There’s a lot to write about. But as a venerable member of the chosen, let me begin by saying I’m grateful. For life. For friends. For everything.
Then let us proceed to the next stage. It’s a simple game, really. All you need to do is pretend like I’ve been here all along. I’ve been sending you emails. You’ve been enjoying my newsletters and have been spreading the word about a writer and music journalist whose work is nothing short of extraordinary.
Ah. That Haywenzo guy sabi write die.
Simple game.
I cannot categorically say if this is a new phase for me, but I’ve not lost my interest in writing about artists or music. If anything, my interest has taken me to depths that a morally upstanding individual might consider questionable. (Hey! this isn’t to say I’m not morally upstanding. Shh. That’s not why we’re here).
So, why are we here? What is here and what is going on?
I’m finally working in music business. Yay!
I’m what you consider in these streets as a music executive. You know, all that music business kinikan. Yes. Exactly that. Not close to where I would like to be, but a step further regardless.
I don’t know if I want to write about that yet. At the same time, my disposition sometimes get the best of me and I want to share my observations and thoughts about the music industry. There’s a lot to say. Let us end it there for now.
You should, however, be on the lookout for more newsletters these days. I say, even if na one reader I get, I want you to know that I have you on my mind. You’ll hear from me soon.
Wait wait. Before you go, let me leave you with a little something. I LOVE BHADBOI OML. My days! What an exceptionally gifted artist. I need to say I feel so lucky and privileged to witness such greatness.
This record is phenomenal. He is phenomenal.
Oh my days, Congratulations.
The dopamine rush when I saw this posts notification on my phone was so fulfilling. It lit up a nostalgic excitement in me. Gosh! 2022. Mehn! I thought I'd be in the music scene doing one or two. But, life just has its on course and it's beautiful to see where it's leading too.
Of course, you've been here all along.
Waiting for the next newsletter
